AI and Tourism: increasingly smart spending forecasts thanks to data

One year after launching its partnership with HBenchmark, Mastercard presents its approach to artificial intelligence applied to tourist spending, focusing on concrete use cases to support destinations and operators in achieving specific KPIs.

The joint study on the Mastercard Spending Index and RevPar HBenchmark data shows a strong correlation between the two variables, upon which AI-based predictive models can be built to estimate the future trend of economic flows generated by tourism.
