Through the Hotel-Benchmark platform, the initiative aims to provide operators with advanced technological tools to transform data into strategic decisions and improve the competitiveness of the entire destination.

SELECTION PROCESS AND REQUIREMENTS

How to join your Destination's Territorial Project

To ensure statistically reliable monitoring of the entire territory, participation in the project is subject to a Application evaluation stage.

1st STEP

Check the minimum requirement

To participate in the Territorial Project, you must use a Property Management System (PMS) from our list of active PMS. Check if yours is among the integrated PMS. Check all integrated PMS here.

2nd STEP

Register your Property

Complete the expression of interest form and submit your Establishment to be selected to participate within the territorial Project of your Destination. Fill in the form here to apply for the project.

2nd STEP

Awaiting evaluation

Structures will be selected based on typology and geographical location, so as to compose a balanced analysis sample. The "first come, first served" principle will be applied: expressions of interest submitted first will have priority in the order of evaluation.

3rd STEP

You will receive the outcome of the application

Once the sample analysis is complete, you will receive communication on the selection outcome at the email address provided in the expression of interest form.

To join the Canton of Ticino's Data Intelligence Project

Please read carefully below all the steps the project is broken down into.

1st STEP

Check the minimum requirement

To participate in the Territorial Project, the use of management software (PMS) from our list of active PMS is required. Check all integrated PMS here.

2nd STEP

Claim the registration coupon

Send Ticino Turismo a request for the coupon to register your property at a reduced rate.

3rd STEP (OPTION)

Register your Property

Register your establishment using the coupon and instructions you received from Ticino Turismo. The procedure will not take longer than 5 minutes and will end with confirmation of successful online registration and via email.

3rd STEP

Wait for your PMS to connect

After registration, the HBenchmark team will handle the integration with your PMS. You won't need to do anything, just wait for our confirmation once the integration is complete.

4th STEP

Start using Hotel-Benchmark!

After an onboarding and training session, you'll be ready to start using the platform independently. You can still count on our assistance for any questions!

Measure the percentage of occupied rooms or accommodation units during a specific period. It allows you to understand the real trend of tourist demand and to evaluate the effectiveness of promotional policies or events in the area.

Average Daily Rate

Indicate the average price paid per room sold. This helps you monitor the average pricing position of the territory, identify any seasonal imbalances and compare the results with similar destinations.

Revenue per Available Room

Combine occupancy and ADR to show the overall economic performance of the accommodation sector. It is the key indicator for measuring the economic value generated by tourism in the territory.

Cancellations

It is possible to know the cancellation rate and its aggregated value for your destination for each past or future day, week, or month.

Check that your PMS is integrated

The only requirement to join the Territorial Project of your Destination is the use of one of the PMS management software already integrated automatically into the HBenchmark ecosystem.

If you don't already have a management system, now is certainly the time to consider one, choosing from the many PMS already integrated automatically.

Who is it for?
The Hospitality Data Intelligence project is aimed at all accommodation facilities operating in the Canton of Ticino and its Tourism Regions (OTR): Lugano, Locarno and Ascona, Bellinzonese and Mendrisiotto.
What does it provide?
This foresees integration within an advanced digital ecosystem through the activation of the Hotel-Benchmark Hospitality Data Intelligence platform. Member establishments will be able to access a wide range of useful data and indicators to monitor the local tourism market and their competitive positioning in real-time, thus enabling them to direct their strategic revenue, marketing, and investment decisions with maximum effectiveness and responsiveness.
What are the benefits for organisations that join?
The main advantage will be the ability to increase profitability by comparing one's performance with that of the region, knowing in advance:

the employment rate;

What are the requirements to join?

How will the Facilities data be displayed?
The indicators will always be shown in an anonymous and aggregated form, respecting the privacy of the data of individual accommodation facilities participating in the project.
