From the words of Massimo De Ferrari, president of Federalberghi-Confommercio Elba, it is clear that July, based on data from the study on Elban tourism compiled by HBenchmark on behalf of Federalberghi-Confcommercio Elba, recorded around 2 percentage points less than 2023, partly due to a reduction in length of stay and a decrease in the tourist's spending power.
According to the president of Elba, the poor figures for July are due to a lower number of foreign visitors (in July 2024, the figure stood at just 30%, compared with 40% in previous years).
The figures for August, however, are encouraging, with the employment rate currently standing at 85.1% – an increase of 2.023 percentage points.
