According to data provided by HBenchmark to the national federation of campsites and tourist villages FAITA – Federcamping and reported yesterday by ANSA, the 2025 tourist season is shaping up to be extraordinary for the open-air sector in Italy!
Average employment up compared to last year:
- +4.3% for the lake
- +12.5% for the sea
Bookings for admissions have seen a strong increase in the last month:
- +26% for lake structures
- +21% for seaside campsites for the same period
Where and for how long do you stay?
- Pitches at the front, with longer stays: 13 days at the lake, 14 days at the seaside
- Bungalows, villas, caravans and mobile homes: approximately 10 days
- Tents and glamping: between 9.5 and 10.5 days
Who chooses Italy for outdoor tourism?
- The Germans are the largest market of origin, accounting for 50.3% of overnight stays in lake campsites and 52.5% in coastal facilities.
- The Dutch are the second largest market for lake zones (%)
- Italians are the second most represented nationality at the seaside (25.4%)
