The data processed in collaboration with Federalberghi and Faita Veneto paint a picture of strong growth for tourism Open air on the Veneto coast and, in particular, on the Sottomarina coastline for the August Bank Holiday.
The findings highlight a clear preference for outdoor accommodation, which stands out as a genuine driving force of the regional tourism offering.
The key points emerging from the data analysis
- The Open Air sector peaked on 15 August (94.6%): In the week from 10 to 16 August, campsites and holiday villages on the Venetian coast reached an average occupancy rate of 94,6%, overtaking the seaside hotel sector (88.2%) and the mountain hotel sector (82.8%).
- Sottomarina performance and tourist accommodation: Regarding the Chioggia destination, the accommodation facilities Open air show a steadily increasing trend: the housing units (bungalows and mobile homes) reach the 76% of acquired occupancy, with an increase of 6.7 percentage points compared to the previous three weeks and an average daily rate (ADR) that rose to 73,6 € (compared to €69.80 the previous year).
- Great prospects for September (+3.5 pp): The predictive data for mid-September is already recording a 58,8% of acquired employment, an increase of 3.5 percentage points compared to the same period in 2025.
- Market composition: Domestic demand remains predominant (Italy accounts for the 66,8% of total employment and 73.9% of pitches), followed by Germany (22.1%) and Austria (2.3%).
As highlighted by Raffaella Boscolo, president of CisaCamping, the accuracy of the aggregated data makes it possible to assess not only the volume of visitor numbers, but also the ability of accommodation facilities to generate economic value for the entire region.
