The Olympic Games are drawing to a close and the first figures, as reported by the press, confirm an extraordinarily positive impact for Bormio. 

As a technical and strategic partner of @Bormio Tourism, HBenchmark has monitored flows in Alta Valtellina, providing an objective read based on actual booking data registered in the accommodation facilities in the area.

Here are some of the most interesting data points emerging from the analysis of performance during the Olympic period (7-22 February 2026) compared to the same period in 2025, at the same observation date (19 February 2026 and 2025):

• Increase in average rates: the average room rate – including treatments – jumped to €557, compared to €268 the previous year (+108%). A clear signal of the premium value recognised for the Olympic experience.
• Strategic management of occupancy and revenue increase: despite a drop in occupancy (75.1%vs 81.6%), RevPAR (revenue per available room) has doubled. A winning strategic choice that prioritised profitability and high-spending clientele over simple room filling.
