Rimini: September growth and extension of the season

The data processed by HBenchmark per Promozione Alberghiera and VisitRimini are highlighting a promising start to September for the Romagna Riviera, with an increase in bookings compared to last year and an extension of the opening period for many seasonal hotels.

Based on the sample of around 120 monitored city establishments, the destination is showing a positive trend driven by favourable weather conditions, enhanced air connections and a packed calendar of sporting and trade fair events.

The key points emerging from the data analysis

  • Employment as at 53% (+3.2%): The average employment rate for the month of September is already standing at around 53%, with an estimated growth of 3,2% compared to the same period in 2025.
  • Extension of the season: Thanks to resilient demand, almost all seasonal establishments will extend their opening until 13 or 20 September.
  • The demand drivers: Driving attendance are the region's major motoring and trade fair events (including MotoGP, the Italian Bike Festival and Tecnargilla), the Palacongressi's schedule of events and the high occupancy rate of flights operating through the “Fellini” airport.
  • Tariff dynamics and profitability: The analysis shows that, despite the increase in employment volumes after Ferragosto and the Meeting, the market is recording a natural contraction in average prices, confirming the importance of careful monitoring of pricing strategies to safeguard operating margins.
