Riviera delle Palme, positive season for the non-hotel sector and the call for Data Intelligence

In a recent in-depth article published by The Rest of the Little Donkey, Paolo Nespeca (owner of the ‘I Delfini’ Residence in Cupra Marittima and vice-president of ACOT – Cupra Marittima Tourist Operators Association) draws a positive balance for the summer season of the non-hotel accommodation sector on the Riviera delle Palme, underlining the strategic importance of data transparency for local governance.

The analysis highlights resilient volumes thanks to restrained pricing policies for families and favourable prospects for an extension until mid-September, while at the same time emphasising the need to equip the destination with advanced Data Intelligence tools.

The key points that emerged from the analysis

  • Seasonal trend and extension into September: Following a positive start boosted by the 2nd June long weekend and peak occupancy in August, bookings are showing an excellent holding pattern up to 12th September, thanks to favourable weather conditions.
  • Pricing strategies and the non-hotel sector: To cope with the fall in the domestic market's purchasing power, residences and apartments kept their rates stable compared to 2025, resorting to promotional campaigns and discounts to fill available capacity.
  • Need for objective measurement of flows: Nespeca highlights the lack of real-time monitoring of arrivals and presence in the area, which is essential for effective strategic planning.
  • The HBenchmark model: The experience of campsites and holiday villages associated with FAITA, which use the Open Air-Benchmark platform to have constantly updated analyses and reliable data on the destination, is cited as a virtuous one.

As confirmed by requests from local operators, the adoption of integrated Data Intelligence systems represents a fundamental step in overcoming information fragmentation and guiding tourism development on a scientific and shared basis.
