Destination Verona & Garda Foundation: a rosy season in the city and on the lake

The HBenchmark data processed for the Verona Garda Tourism Observatory shows a positive trend for both the city of Verona and Lake Garda.

With regard to Verona, among the many aspects analysed, it is interesting to note that there is a different distribution of sales channels between the city and the province: in the province, direct bookings account for the highest percentage (46.81%), whilst OTAs are the preferred choice for tourists staying in the city of Verona (56.1%).

In the same way, it's interesting to understand which nationalities prefer to stay outside or inside the city: for example, the French, Americans, and Spanish prefer the centre, while Israelis and Chinese prefer the province.

Thanks to HBenchmark analyses, it is also possible to monitor different KPIs in relation to nationality, for example, it is possible to find that:

  • In the city of Verona, Americans spend more and the Chinese spend less.;
  • The English are the tourists who stay for the most days.

For Lake Garda, July was more than positive, with a slight dip in the German market, however, compensated by other markets.

Among the most represented nationalities on Lake Garda are, of course, Germans and Italians, but also Danes, Dutch and English, in addition to new markets from the East such as Poles and Czechs.
