Forum Open Air 2025 – FAITA Academy

How to understand if your campsite is truly performing well or if you're leaving money on the table.

During her speech at the Rome Open Air Forum, Barbara Donzelli, Head of Hospitality Business Development at HBenchmark, demonstrated how real-time analysis of comparable market data can transform the way campsites and tourist villages manage their revenue.

The key point: the management system only tells you half the story.
Knowing bookings, prices, and channels is important, but without the context of the local market, you can't know if you're truly performing well.

Barbara explained how concrete metrics what the employment rate, the average price of each product, the weekly pick-up and the booking curve are, help to to understand when to act and how, distinguishing between a drop in bookings affecting only your own establishment and a broader market trend.

To overcome seasonal logic (peak, mid, low season) means adopting a dynamic mindset: not all weeks in August or September behave the same way, and local data is the compass for making informed decisions.
