Focus Garda Veneto: open air drives the economy and records record stays

The open-air tourism sector in Veneto remains a strategic pillar of the region’s hospitality industry, with over 180 establishments and an estimated economic impact of €1.7 billion. On the Veronese shore of Lake Garda, the sector generates expenditure in excess of €290 million (22.1% of the regional total), with an economic multiplier of 1.5 for every euro spent on accommodation.

2026 Season Forecasts and Data (HBenchmark Observatory)

The analyses of HBenchmark, updated to April 30, 2026, outline an extremely positive outlook for the current season in Garda Veneto:

  • Occupation The overall fill rate has already exceeded 50%, with tips over 60% for advanced housing solutions (bungalows and mobile homes).
  • Average stay: Long stays are being recorded, averaging between 9 PM and 12 AM, confirming strong customer loyalty.
  • International target The mix remains international, driven by the German market and followed by the Netherlands, Denmark, and Austria.

The sector’s progress towards high quality standards is evidenced by the 18 “Superplatz” awards won by campsites in the Veneto region and by FAITA-Federcamping’s commitment to developing ESG protocols, with 501 campsites in the region already meeting advanced sustainability and governance criteria.
