HBenchmark a Destination Lab: measuring the economic impact of tourism together with Mastercard

Tuesday, April 28th, HBenchmark participated in Destination Lab at the Rimini Conference Centre, an important moment for discussion with DMOs, Public Bodies and industry professionals on the most innovative strategies for sustainable destination development.

Together with Mastercard, our strategic partner since 2024, we presented a joint intervention titled “Measuring and predicting the value of tourism: from bookings to the economic impact on destinations.

During the speech, we showed how the integration between the booking details for hospitality and the tourism expenditure monitoring represent a strategic direction fundamental for the territorial governance.

We have presented a model capable of offering a holistic view of economic impact, which can be effectively applied to both micro-territorial contexts and large destinations.

The analysis also focused on forecasting methodologies for estimating the effects on flows, seasonality, and spending, demonstrating how the use of timely and reliable data allows for the anticipation of complex scenarios and supports decisions geared towards sustainability.
