HBenchmark at Hospitality Day 2026: AI agents that read the market

HBenchmark at Hospitality Day 2026: the Desk and the Speech on AI Agents

On Tuesday, October 13, the thirteenth edition of Hospitality Day was held at the Palacongressi in Rimini. This event is an educational and networking event for hospitality professionals organized by Teamwork Hospitality. HBenchmark participated with a desk in the networking area and with a speech dedicated to Artificial Intelligence applied to booking data.

Throughout the day, the HBenchmark team welcomed those who wanted to learn more about our solutions and those who wanted to discuss market data. Thank you to all the people who stopped by to talk with us.

From data to ‘actionable’ insights with AI support

In the afternoon, in Hall of the Temple 1, Mario Romanelli, Commercial Director of Develon Group, and Gabriels Viskars, Hotel Business Strategy Consultant at HBenchmark, presented the speech “Beyond Benchmarking: AI Agents that Read the Market”.

Mario Romanelli showed the path from data to decision. The booking string collected by the PMS becomes a KPI, like the occupancy rate. The KPI takes on meaning in comparison with the destination or with a group of competitors, and the comparison ultimately becomes an insight on which to act.

“First data intelligence, then artificial intelligence” is also the path taken by HBenchmark. From the 2016 benchmarking, they moved on to integrating with PMS systems, then to data intelligence and business intelligence, and finally to Hotel-AI Insight, the AI agent that transforms real booking data into concrete recommendations.

Gabriels Viskars then showed the agent working on three questions that Revenue Managers often ask: am I leaving margin on the table? Should I lower the price if sales slow down? Why are competitors selling and I’m not?

In any case, the agent considers employment, ADR and pickup in relation to the comp set, also by customer segment, and suggests the action that is most consistent with the data, even when it goes against instinct. An example is avoiding a last-minute discount when the slowdown is due to the overall demand in the market and not to the price of the structure.

The main theme of the speech is that the occupation illustrates what has already been sold, while the pickup indicates the direction in which the market is moving.

Reading these data together with the support of AI helps to avoid decisions based on partial information and to define the price for each individual stay more precisely. It also offers continuous support that does not depend solely on individual experience.

We thank the audience in the room for their attention and for the questions at the end of the presentation, and Teamwork Hospitality for the organization.
